Personal, local service in Jena

JenWatch is based in Jena and run by Melanie Haak. It grew from a simple idea: people who live in Jena or own a flat here should be able to leave home without worrying about their pets, their plants, their mailbox or their apartment.

Instead of booking through a platform that constantly changes sitters, our customers always deal directly with Melanie Haak as their fixed contact, plus one named backup who is introduced in advance. That way you know who has the key, who is in your apartment, and who will greet your cat.

How we work

• Personal pre-visit. Before every new booking we meet you at your home, get to know your pet and write down all the routines.
• Documented visits. You receive a short message after each visit, and photos on request.
• Careful key handling. Keys are stored separately from personal data and are labelled with an internal code only.
• Transparent fixed prices. You know what a visit or a package costs before you book.
• Insured service. JenWatch has business liability insurance with Barmenia Gothaer.

What we don't do

• We are not a nursing service and do not provide medical care.
• We are not a security company – no 24/7 guard service or surveillance.
• We do not accept bookings for pet types outside our current experience.
