What services does JenWatch provide?
Pet sitting (mainly cats and small pets), house and apartment care, plant watering, mail service, cleaning with fixed prices per room, everyday support for seniors and winter service in Jena and the surrounding area.
Which pets can JenWatch care for?
Cats (our main focus), rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish and selected small animals. Dogs only after an individual pre-visit and arrangement.
Will my pet remain at home?
Yes. Our concept is in-home care – your pet stays in its familiar environment. We come to you.
How often can JenWatch visit?
As often as you need – from once a week for short trips up to twice a day for young cats or diabetic pets.
Do I receive updates after a visit?
Yes. You receive a short status message after every visit. Photo updates are available on request.
How are keys handled?
Keys are labelled with an internal code only, never with your name or address, and are stored separately from personal data.
Is JenWatch insured?
Yes, JenWatch has business liability insurance with Barmenia Gothaer.
What happens if a team member is unavailable?
JenWatch is a small owner-run team. Bookings are always confirmed personally, so you know in advance who will visit. In case of illness we contact you and organise a replacement or reschedule with your agreement.
Can plants be watered?
Yes – indoor plants, balcony plants and small gardens, according to the schedule and quantities you tell us during the pre-visit.
Can mail and parcels be handled?
Yes. We empty the mailbox on a fixed schedule and can accept small parcels on request.
Can cleaning be booked before I return?
Yes. A short return-cleaning shortly before your arrival is a popular add-on. See our cleaning services page.
Which areas around Jena are covered?
Jena and the surrounding area up to about 20 km, including Golmsdorf, Bürgel, Kahla, Stadtroda, Dornburg-Camburg, Bad Berka, Apolda, Eisenberg and Hermsdorf.
Are there additional travel costs?
Inside Jena there are no travel costs. For towns outside Jena a small mileage fee may apply, always agreed transparently in advance.
How can I request a quote?
Use our contact form, WhatsApp or email. We usually reply within 24 hours.
Is communication in English possible?
Yes. Communication in English is no problem at all.
How early should I book?
For holiday periods (summer, Christmas, Easter) 4–8 weeks in advance is a good rule of thumb. Shorter notice is often still possible – please just ask.
Are weekends and public holidays available?
Yes, weekends and public holidays are available on request. Public holiday visits may include a small surcharge.
Do you offer 24/7 security or surveillance?
No. JenWatch is not a security company. We provide regular, documented checks – not guard services.
